Fidelis gets huge Indian project

“Fidelis Energy Inc (FDEI),” an energy company focusing towards the development, construction and operation of solar based projects have recently declared their agreement with Jaipur based Esar Solar Pvt. Ltd (ESP) towards the construction of several solar energy based projects in the Thar desert located near Jaisalmer in India. The agreement deal was made for $25 million.

Fidelis Energy sees  great scope arising out of this project as it’s unwaveringly establishes them in being the pioneers in solar power field. To meet the excessive demand of the city, the company plans to design a multi-megawatt powered solar system that will support and supply energy in the community grid.
Jaisalmer is known for its bright sunshine which goes for an average 330 days in a years , therefore its destined to become the world’s biggest solar powerhouse in the future. The region receives 6.2KW per hour of solar energy per square meter daily which is considered to be the highest in the world.
Fidelis visions India as a country which has untapped solar power, and this is the first of many projects they would be undertaking in the year 2010 and 2011.

According to James Poole, CEO of Fidelis Energy Inc, “While the global projects pose special challenges for solar energy manufacturers, such as distinguishing the proper high voltage lines and the possession of the property prior to the system initiation, the unique expertise to over power such challenges makes Fidelis the best in the industry and the first choice for the clients.”
Towards their global support towards the power needs , Fidelis Energy has built the base required to support this kind of global expansion in order to expedite the development of large scale projects, as they realize the potential solar power will have in the future towards global search for cleaner and plethoric energy sources.
PV Project will acquire the technology, engineering and construction services from Fidelis, as the state’s government owned power distribution company has approved a 10- year power purchase and sale agreement with ESP.
According to ESP chairman Jagdish Singh, the fossil fuels overtly used in our country towards the energy requirement affects the economical growth and the environment. In the view of this, ESP is focussed towards meeting a portion of the country’s energy requirement by establishing huge photovoltaic projects which will produce energy with the use of sunlight.

Indian recently disclosed their plan to generate 20 GW of solar power by 2020, this would be at a cost of $19 billion.  This follows with their plans to launch its Solar Mission which came under the National Action Plan on Climate change, on November 18,2009. Through this mission, by the year 2013 they plan to produce 1,000 megawatts of power.
