India has been developing itself heavily over the last decade. The economy is booming and a real assumption is that in 20 years, India will become the country with the most powerful economy. Along with that, energy consumation will drastically increase. That’s why investments in the biofuels area are made all the time.

At the moment, India is the 7th energy producer in the world. On the other hand, it’s also the 5th energy consumer in the world. The estimated amount of oil which will be needed to “satisfy” India in 2017 is 650 million tons! To eliminate the dependence on other countries’ oil reserves, research in the biofuels area could make a change for India. The most talked about option is biodiesel.

Indian government has set real goals they plan to achieve in the future. They are starting by gathering private investors and introducing the whole project to them.
