New solar homes incentives

Businesses and households all over will, very soon, have a much greater incentive for installing solar panels or wood fired boilers as well as to use various other types of renewable energy since the government has announced fresh payments, for energy generation at home, on Monday. But, there are a few environmentalists which have claimed that this scheme, which was announced by Ed Miliband, the energy secretary, was not going to be enough for stimulating microgeneration on a large scale. The creators of energy generation equipment are wondering if this is going to increase their sales & are expecting to hire more people as those that are buying these devices could look forward to 100′s of pounds every year from various electricity companies.

There are very few houses which have this equipment and the critics are blaming the lack of effective subsidy systems for rewarding the house owners. Subsidy systems were mainly designed for generating power on a utility scale. There are also going to be “feed-in-tariffs” which will be announced. This means that people are going to be paid a fixed amount of money for each unit of electricity that they produce. This is way more than what commercial scale generation of fossil fuels can pay. Microgeneration industry’s expecct feed-in-tariffs to largely be, equivalent with the total amount earned during consultation where people are supposed to be paid around thirty six and a half pounds per every kilowatt hour that they produce and the owners of small wind turbines will be paid around thirty point five for the same amount of electricity.

Renewable Energy Association & the Friends of the Earth have called for annual returns on the investment of around ten percent which is more than the five-six percent that was expected out of the consultation. This demand for this energy is most probably, not going ot be met, felt an insider from the government. This is because, if the tarrif was very generous then the home owners that are still using conventional energy sources will be paying very high bills. Leaders in the industry have welcomed this tariff at it’s current level itself. The executive chairman of Solar Century, Jeremy Leggett has said that the average solar power system would cost a household £12,000 a year. According to the tariffs, they could earn up to £1,000 every year. That is a much better return on your investment than even banks could give you.
