The photovoltaic sector specialists have received their own international expert network which is known as the Festo Engineering Network. It will provide an efficient and convenient way to exchange the thoughts inside the community about the market developments and the trends in the solar industry which is wafer based and of finding few of the latest solutions together.
The Festo Engineering Network will shorten the contacts between the photovoltaic solution providers and the scientists from CSE and the Fraunhofer ISE. The members of the Network will also be able to create some of the new ideas for the solar industries future in the closed workgroups. There is also a database that provides a complete and up to date industry details like reports, sample applications and the studies that can be downloaded through online by the members for free of cost.
Along with the introduction of online platform, the Festo Engineering Network has also made an announcement of its ideas contest which will also include attractive prizes such as a flight in an airship or a hot air balloon. The members who will participate in this network can provide their own suggestions about the standardization of interfaces, cost reductions, photovoltaic standards for cell production, energy efficiency and safety, assembly systems and utility monitoring up to the date 20th of February 2011.
Dr Joel West of San Jose State University said during the Festo Summit Photovoltaics opening event in San Francisco during its starting stage on 2010 December the importance this collaboration is in social networks which will particularly support the dynamic and young industries such as photovoltaics. Trust and reliable processes including a clear cut infrastructure will change in case the cooperation will begin amongst the members in the network and it will also support in collecting the benefits for a successful products.
